triumphant burst of joyous music

about

in a darkened bedroom somewhere on the planet… perhaps a bathroom mirror splattered by toothpaste… somebody is contorting the body… desperately trying to fit as much as they can into the mirror… in the hand is a camera phone held to partly conceal the face unsure of whether they will be received with open arms… the outfit is carefully chosen…

the urge to post…
this may have come from a recent purchase… a want to show the taste makers that one understands… a longing to belong to a group… for a few laughs…

how ever the bug is caught… it becomes addictive… after the first time… however well received… there is an urge for more… better… a new camera… a tripod… better light… more clothes… the posts more complex… titles… 1 pic 2 pics… a link… hidden angles…

a collaborative visual diary…

what are you wearing today

my very first time

september 2005, i just got access to my first digital camera. standing in front of the mirror unsure how to get good output, i take this picture, open up photoshop, resize it, thinking it a sin to have an image above 50kb and so it is small and dark.

i have taken numerous pictures of myself over the course of the last two and a half years, at first sporadically [when i had some new clothes to show] then increasing in both number and fore thought as i found people responding to these posts.

by july 2006 this had become a daily exercise, having found a friend to share the process with a partner in crime as it were. byt his time the urge was to share my daily outift share my daily life. the location became more important as the outfits would not always feature something new. to alleviate boredom and show more of how i lived they moved out of doors.

a truly inspired moment

with encouragement and genuine interest in my posts i started to feel more comfortable with showing my face and taking pictures in increasingly public situations. it has now feels normal to set up my camera on a tripod set the self timer in motion and concentrate on getting into position for that. it became like meditation.

the format got bigger once i had it pointed out that most of the world was not on dial-up and that the bigger pictures allowed for more scope.

through a friend’s eyes

alternate views were added via linked images at first in imitation and later in partnership with that same dear friend.

there have been pics with other people both unsuspecting strangers and friends and family. there have been many happy accidents of light and incident along the way.

two heads are better

i was told once that if you follow your dreams then your life can feel like a movie. in an attempt to fulfill my dreams i have started to document my life[via the posts] using a cinematic style, changing the pictures in bothratio and tone to portray this new vision.

this pictures in this blog are all the posts using the new cinematic style. i will post musings on whatever crosses my path as i get a chance. sometimes relating to the pictures directly and sometimes related only by the fact that this is the record of my life.

all of the pics are taken on a sony cyber-shot dsc-w70 using a tripod and self timer.

[edit : from post XLV onwards the sony has been replaced with a nikon d40 ]

this is dedicated to my friend inspiration and collaborator bizzy
