there have been a few times in my life when one song has become a mantra. to be listened to at endorphin releasing volumes, to walk the streets at night when there is no one to hear me sing at the top of my lungs.

singing is such an intimate act, a voice when in song so revealing of deep parts of ourselves. that to do so quietly in the privacy of you home, alone with a lover is close to an act of seduction.

to sing in public at full volume is to truly be free.

there are personality traits in others that we admire and wish to have for ourselves. there are personality traits that we have and that we automatically expect others to possess.

for me the thing i want for myself and expect to find in others is courage.

my first instincts are always to dive in head first and without thinking, to do whatever my heart desires whatever the outcome.

i have felt myself letting go to other’s fear and anxiety, making it my own, buying into it.

i pledge to myself to once again be more courageous, to trust what i know to be true, and to be unafraid of what may happen.

that is once i wipe off my sweaty palms.

the main thing about dirty laundry is that it smells and if you leave it long enough it becomes the perfect place for mould to grow.

if you have some lying around take it right now and wash it clean, at the very least hang it out and let the magic of the light from the sun and the air from the wind work together to remove the stink.

it is for the good of your health.

the opinion of another should always be run through a filter of what you know about the person.

what do you personally think that they are good at?

what are the things that you know that they like?

what is their moral compass?

what opinions have you heard them give in the past?

there can be any number of questions that the opinion has to be run through depending on who is offering the opinion.

once this is done you will have sifted out the information that is useful for you.

waiting can be the hardest habit to break. if you have been waiting for something for a long period of time and there were always reasons given why it was not the right time, there is a total head space shift needed in order to move on from it.

this is especially hard if the things you were asked to wait for were never actually delivered.

this waiting can stop you living in the present and you become unaware of the things that are immediately in front of you.

unless there is a reason that makes perfect sense to you and a known end date to the wait. then walk away.

if the time is right it is right now.
