there is a slight but significant difference between wanting a person sexually and not wanting anybody else to have that person.

the former will fill the wanter with energy, give focus to their creative energy via a drive to impress and seduce. all too often we fall into the trap of the later born out of fear.

if you ever find yourself in the second frame of mind, beware that in your desire to keep someone to yourself you don’t smother your own spark.

let us be brave enough to want.

coming

to

fruition

there is nothing quite as satisfying as touch. working on a something, you can get so caught up in what you want it to be, that your desire has your head full of noise.

once you have the opportunity to physically handle the thing the has been consuming you, there is a sudden moment of quiet. you will hear it if you listen hard enough.

using

public

space

there is talking to one self and then there is talking to oneself. sometimes it is like a bubbling spring of consciousness that overflows into the wider world.

at first if you hear somebody do this you could easier think that they are talking on the telephone via a headset. it is so fluid as if somebody is having a conversation.

well good..talk to somebody else on your cell phone..no i don’t..i’ve seen her and she is not that pretty..

the person on the other end is being accused of being racist.

i am still trying to sneak a look for the headset, sneaking in part because it is rude to stare, but mostly because it feels unsafe to be staring at somebody working out their inner demons.

half

a

block

if you find yourself feeling hemmed in, overcrowded, and can’t see route of escape, it can be easy to believe that this is a permanent condition and everything in your life will seem darker.

one solution can be found in moving, ever so slightly, in that moment you will gain an entirely new angle of view, with the possibilities that are available once again in your line of vision.

set

n

forget

the first automatic deep fryer was born in australia in 1972 it was given the  wonderfully descriptive name set n forget. a boon to fast food companies and restaurants as now the staff in charge of cooking fries could could now turn their attention to other things.

i can’t help but think that this marvel of efficiency has influenced the way we live in more profound ways than the simple pleasure of eating fried potatoes and the attendant expanding waistlines.

perhaps it is time to take a cue from the slow food movement toward a slow life, taking note of every single detail of our day to day lives and making each one better for the attention that we give.

then again it is probably too late given that the first auto pilot system for aviation has been with us for almost a century.
